Flu Vaccinations 2021/22

This year we will continue to factor in social distancing into our flu vaccination schedule in order to keep everyone safe.

You will receive invitation on mobile phone by text message or by a letter through post. Please call the surgery on 01442 265322 to book an appointment

If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, have been in contact with someone that has tested positive or are self-isolating  please  DO NOT COME to the surgery,  call us to re- arrange your appointment

  • Anyone arriving for the clinic should be appropriately dressed to enable an efficient service and easy access to their arm.
  • All patients should bring their own a face covering or mask with them.
  • Slots will be given and we must stress the importance of arriving in time – not before, not after- in order to help us maintain a safe social distanced clinic.

Who should get the flu vaccine?

  • Everyone aged 65 and over
  • Everyone under 65 years of age who has a medical condition that makes them eligible, including children and babies over 6 months of age
  • All pregnant women, at any stage of pregnancy
  • All 2 and 3 year old children (provided they were aged 2 or 3 years old on 31 August of the current flu season)
  • All children in primary school (given at school)
  • All Year 7 to Year 11 secondary school-aged children (given at school)
  • Everyone living in a residential or nursing home
  • Everyone who cares for an older or disabled person

Home visits are available – for medically housebound patients ONLY.

We shall continue to offer essential home visits for very frail patients to have their flu vaccinations at home and for those living in care homes.

  • Home visit slots are very limited and so are strictly reserved only for those who physically couldn’t get to an appointment with help from a friend, family or a taxi.
  • Home visits will be scheduled by our nursing team but please do call the surgery to let us know if you want to book a home visit.

How to decline?

If you already know that you don’t want a flu vaccine at all please call to tell us or quickly let us know completing the “Decline Flu Vaccine” form  below so that your vaccine can be offered to someone else who needs it:  This year more than ever, this is very important as vaccines supplies are expected to be in extremely high demand.
